Long time, no talk friends! Well, on IG, but it has been awhile since I have uploaded anything to my blog! I sound like a broken record on here, but life just gets so crazy sometimes, and I can barely keep up. I have been trying to really kickstart my sugar cookie + wedding invitation business. My mom has a bakery in town, so I have been doing sugar cookies through her bakery, but I wanted to have a separate brand where people can go and see both my cookie + invite work and could order straight from there. It was just getting a little confusing for people knowing where to see my things or where to order between the bakery, my invites, my blog, etc. So if you haven’t yet, go follow @TheSweetEnvelope on IG for all things sweets and pretty paper! In more exciting news, we are also MOVING (just different houses), so it has been a little bit of a whirlwind around here. This was definitely a “God thing”! I always like to point out to Kalep when I can clearly see God working in our lives, and I think it’s the coolest thing when you have been praying for something so hard and for a long time and you see it come to fruition so vividly. We have loved our first home, but were quickly outgrowing it. I had been praying for God to give us the opportunity to either build a new house or find the perfect house for our little family. I even have a picture of a house on my vision board for 2019. What is so crazy is that I always would tell Kalep, “In the next house, I would really love this or that.” The house we are moving into has everything on my list of things I wanted like my own office space and a laundry room that connects to my closet. Flashback – After my last breakup, I remember writing a list in my prayer journal of all the qualities I wanted in my future husband or even next boyfriend. God is a jokester sometimes because I remember I wrote “Someone who challenges me and doesn’t always give into me.” Boy, did he pay attention to that one! (lol) 😉 But really, Kalep had everything that was on that list and that’s how this house is. It kind of happened out of nowhere. My mother in law was driving by the house when they set out the for sale sign, so we just decided to call and tour the house. We loved it but weren’t even sure if we could even get it. Luckily, we had been prepping our house to put on the market if the chance ever came up. Between showings, inspections, and everything in between, it has been super busy around here, but we are so ready to close and start a new chapter in a new (to us) home! Can’t wait to share everything decor and home with you all as we get settled in!
One more thing – I really want to make my blog more of a priority and would love for you all to DM me with different content ideas that you would love to see from me. Lately, I have been getting so many questions about organizing tips and things for the home. While I absolutely love fashion for me and my mini, I have been feeling this pull to do more “home related” posts. Interior design and decorating spaces is really a passion for me and I enjoy every bit of it. A part of me would even like to try doing some Youtube videos related to organizing and decorating spaces. Let me know if you would at all be interested in that – even if I just have one or two views! lol Sometimes I let the devil creep into my thoughts and discourage me from doing things I want to do in this space because of fear or feeling like I can’t or letting comparison hinder me.
Now, let’s talk about this actual outfit! I have been dying for a leopard midi skirt but never pulled the trigger until I saw this one at Express. I loooove it. I love how versatile midi skirts are nowadays and so trendy. You can wear it dressed up and to different occasions like events or to work. You can also wear sneakers and a tee with it and go out running errands or as a cute travel outfit. I forgot to bring along my sneaks for these pictures, but I did wear them with the “Gucci” tee recently. My mom hated it, but I loved it (lol). I did link other similar skirts that are all around $20 as well! This one runs pretty big (wearing an XS).
Anyway, I think that’s long enough for now! I have a virtual appointment with Dr. Azzizadeh from the Facial Paralysis Institute in Beverly Hills today and I could not be more excited. I have been waiting on this appointment for a couple of months now, and I can’t wait to hear what he has to say. He’s worked wonders for some of my “Bell’s palsy” friends on Instagram!
