SHOP OUR OUTFITS
(Some of the items are either from places that aren’t linkable or I’ve had for a while – like my denim jacket…since 8th grade! lol) Linked similar items though!
We have been on the struggle bus here lately. It was like our whole family got the stomach bug last week and we finally got over it, then Mila decided to have 4 teeth come in. She’s been super fussy, but who can blame them when they’re in so much pain. That’s why we’ve been MIA around here the last couple of weeks. She did complete one month of swim lessons, and we start month 2 next week. Her and her buddies basically go to play and splash in the water, but it’s a fun outing for babies and us moms. I also feel better that she’s getting acquainted with being in a pool! My parents have a pool, so I’m paranoid about it especially because Mila is a little daredevil and not scared of anything. For any of you moms that live in the West Texas area, we go to COM Aquatics in Midland and the lessons are SUPER affordable and so fun!
On to the actual post! I always love watching “What’s in my diaper bag?” videos on YouTube and reading blog posts about it. It’s just fun for me and I’ll always come across things that are super useful. I thought I’d do my own and share with you all what I usually carry in my diaper bag! After a year and 3 months of lugging around a diaper bag, here are the items I’ve found to be most useful during our outings. Hope this helps any of you parents and soon-to-be parents!
To start off – this is my diaper bag here! I also have the mini here and these are currently 40% off – such a great deal! I am truly obsessed with these bags. They’re so stylish and functional. I mostly use my big diaper bag when we’re out and about, but if I’m just running to the store or somewhere quickly, I’ll just pack the mini. I’ll usually just pack a bottle/sippy, snacks, a couple of diapers, wipe case and my wallet. When Mila gets a little older, she can use the Mini as her own little backpack. You can carry both of these as a backpack or a purse.
EXTRA OUTFIT/PJ’S: I always pack an extra outfit or a set of PJ’s because we all know babies like to hit us with unexpected blowouts and now that Mila is eating more solid foods and walking around – there’s more of a chance that her clothes will get dirty. I also like to take extra bows (usually a neutral color to match everything) since I have a girl! 😉
BOOK/TOY: I like to take a small toy or book to keep her entertained – usually a small doll or book. These are her favorite books!
DIAPERS/WIPES: This one is a given! I usually like to pack 4-5 diapers and the wipe case. This one‘s pretty good at keeping the wipes moist and not dried out.
TOILETRIES: We always carry the Tubby Todd’s Everyday Lotion or the Tubby Todd’s All Over Ointment To Go (usually prefer taking this one because it’s smaller and it can even be used for diaper rashes). Hand sanitizer, Aveeno Hand & Face wipes and Boogie wipes are always on hand as well.
SNACKS: I always pack a few different snacks. These are some of her favorites below! I also like to pack these pouches – easy to take on the go. Mila loves them and it’s a great way to get some of her fruits/veggies in during the day. We usually buy the boxes from Sam’s Club! These snack containers have also been SO helpful – so much easier than carrying around the whole tube of Puffs or bag of cookies. Side note: For everything I’m linking in girly colors, they’re also available in boy colors! 🙂
FOR EATING: Bibs, a suction plate and utensils! Now that she’s a big girl (crying), I like to carry around a suction plate so she can eat off at restaurants or wherever we are. A bib – self explanatory. We are LOVING these GrabEase utensils – Mila uses them so well and it took her no time to catch on to picking up her food with them. The Bella Tunno plates are also slim so don’t take up too much space.
SIPPY CUPS/BOTTLES: We’re between sippy cups and bottles. Mila will only drink her milk out of her bottle most of the time, but loves her juice out of sippy cups. I usually carry two in my bag! One sippy and one bottle – unless I know we’ll be gone for a longer period of time. I am obsessed with these Pura bottles linked below. They’re basically like baby Yeti’s – keep things hot and cold. They are also transitional so you can get the ones that start off with a bottle nipple and change out the nipple to a sipper spout to a straw to grow with them as they get older, so you get more use out of them. Using them when Mila was smaller wasn’t my favorite because it was hard to tell how much milk she was actually drinking, but now as a toddler, we love them! Other than these, we have a collection of random sippies and bottles.
ITEMS FOR MOM: I always carry my wallet, sunglasses and a mobile phone charger and cord. This thing is a lifesaver! Between charging my iPhone and her mini iPad in the car, it’s always getting used. If I have room or plan on taking pictures, I also take my camera. An extra paci is always in there as well.
Below are also a few extra items that have really been helpful to us this year!
TOYS: These are some of her favorites right now! She really likes the wooden puzzles and is getting really good at them. Melissa and Doug toys are so cute and good quality. I also love that they’re wooden. Mila also loves her baby dolls – I love to see her have motherly instincts at such a young age. It’s funny how she tries to rock her babies to sleep or give them her pacifier.
MISC: First, we’ve always loved the Dock-a-tot! We upgraded to the Grand as soon as she was about to be one, and we love that we can travel with it.
If you’ve read my posts before, you’d know that Mila has never been a fan of being in her car seat. It got better when we switched to a convertible car seat, but still not great. We FINALLY found something that worked and it was this mini iPad holder below (also available for the regular iPad). We download movies off Netflix and it keeps her content! The holder is less than $15!
This nightlight is also right around $15 and we turn it on every night when she goes to bed. She sleeps in our room, so it lights up enough to still be able to see her in her mini crib.
The bathseat is perfect for her age too. She can sit up and play without worrying if she’ll slip out. Now that she’s a little older, we love using the Dove Tip to Toe wash – so good on her skin! We switch off between this and the Tubby Todd’s hair and body wash!
Hope you’ve found this helpful! Have the best Thursday!
